There’s something incredibly comforting about homemade treats, especially when they’re simple to make yet feel utterly indulgent. My culinary journey with baked donuts continues its delightful path with these exquisite Baked Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes. Ever since my very first batch of baked donuts, I’ve been utterly captivated by their charm. While they certainly offer a different experience from their fried counterparts, boasting a wonderfully cakey and moist texture, I firmly believe that baked donuts and donut holes possess a unique deliciousness all their own. In fact, I often find myself preferring the baked version for its lighter feel and simpler preparation.
What makes these particular baked donut holes truly stand out is a special, unexpected ingredient that elevates their flavor to new heights, making them even more irresistible.
The Secret Ingredient: International Delight Iced Coffee Caramel Macchiato

The secret to these small, heavenly bites of baked goodness? It’s none other than International Delight Iced Coffee Caramel Macchiato. Incorporating this rich, creamy iced coffee into the batter adds a nuanced depth of flavor that is truly extraordinary. The subtle caramel notes and robust coffee essence infuse the donut holes with an incredible taste profile that I absolutely adore, and I’m confident you will too. The best part of this culinary trick is that the recipe only calls for a mere half-cup of this delightful iced coffee. This means you’ll have plenty of International Delight Iced Coffee left over to enjoy alongside your freshly baked donut holes – a perfect pairing for any time of day!
Of course, if caramel isn’t your preference, you could easily opt for the International Delight Iced Coffee Mocha flavor. Both varieties are incredibly satisfying, delivering that authentic coffee shop experience right in the comfort of your home, without any of the usual hassle or waiting in lines. It’s convenience and deliciousness rolled into one.
Your Effortless Coffee Shop Experience at Home

Just this past weekend, given the exceptionally warm weather, I stocked up on several containers of International Delight Iced Coffee during my trip to Walmart. The sheer convenience of International Delight Iced Coffee is unparalleled; it’s already perfectly prepared. All you need to do is pour it over some ice, and you’re instantly transported to a refreshing coffee moment. You can keep it chilled in your refrigerator, ready to pour a glass whenever that inevitable coffee craving strikes. It genuinely offers the simplest, most delicious iced coffee experience you’ll ever find on a grocery shelf!
And with the convenience of having your favorite iced coffee readily available at home, there’s no better time to whip up a batch of these delectable baked donut holes. Because, let’s be honest, the only thing better than a perfectly chilled glass of iced coffee is a perfectly chilled glass of iced coffee accompanied by warm, tender donut holes. It’s the ultimate combination for a relaxed morning or a delightful afternoon treat.
Crafting Your Perfect Baked Donut Holes

My enduring affection for making baked donuts stems from their incredible simplicity. The process is straightforward and fuss-free: simply mix the batter, easily pipe or spoon it into a mini muffin pan, and bake! For these particular donut holes, I opted for a classic finish. Each warm, golden bite was first dipped into luscious melted butter, then generously coated in a delightful mixture of cinnamon and granulated sugar. The aroma alone is enough to make your mouth water!
However, the possibilities don’t end there. For a different twist, you could create a luxurious glaze using powdered sugar whisked with a touch of the International Delight Iced Coffee. Dipping the donut holes into this rich coffee glaze would add another layer of sophisticated flavor. Just imagining that combination already has me contemplating making a second batch!
Alternatively, for those who love a sweet and salty contrast, these donut holes would be absolutely divine dipped into some homemade salted caramel sauce. The combination of the warm, spiced donut and the creamy caramel is simply out of this world.
These Baked Cinnamon Sugar Donut Holes are fantastic straight from the oven, offering a tender, warm experience. But once they’re coated in that irresistible cinnamon sugar, they truly transform, literally melting in your mouth with every single bite. Honestly, I think it’s high time to make another batch. We’ve navigated through another day, and surely we all deserve a little something special to celebrate, right?
Essential Baking Tips for Perfectly Fluffy Donut Holes
- When combining your wet and dry ingredients, it’s crucial to mix them only until everything is just combined. Over-mixing the batter is a common pitfall that can lead to dense, chewy donut holes rather than the light, airy texture we’re aiming for. A few lumps are perfectly fine and often indicate you’ve mixed just enough.
- For a significantly easier and cleaner way to fill your mini muffin cavities, consider using a piping bag. Alternatively, a ziplock bag with one corner snipped off will work just as well. This method allows for precise control, ensuring uniform donut holes and minimizing mess, making the baking process much more enjoyable.
- To prevent any messy overflows in the pan and ensure beautifully domed donut holes, make sure to fill each mini muffin cavity approximately 3/4ths of the way full. This careful measurement should yield exactly 24 perfectly sized donut holes with this recipe.
- Patience is key for the coating step! It’s best to allow the baked donut holes to cool completely on a wire rack before you dip them into the melted butter and subsequent cinnamon sugar mixture. Dipping warm donut holes can result in the butter and sugar dissolving or creating a greasy, uneven coating. A cool donut hole will absorb the butter just right and allow the cinnamon sugar to adhere beautifully.

For the cinnamon sugar coating:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
To make the donut holes:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 24-count mini muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
-
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
-
In a separate bowl, mix together the International Delight Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee, Greek yogurt, sugar, egg, vanilla, and melted butter until fully combined. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined, making sure not to over mix the batter.
-
Pipe (or spoon) the batter evenly into all 24 mini muffin cavities, only filling each one about 3/4 of the way full.
-
Bake at 350°F for 9-11 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the donut holes comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes. Gently remove from the pan to a wire rack to cool.
To make the cinnamon sugar coating:
-
Add the melted butter to small bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon until well combined. Take each donut hole and dunk it into the melted butter, making sure it is fully coated. Then dip it into the cinnamon and sugar mixture, making sure to coat well. Repeat until all of the donut holes are coated, then serve and enjoy!
